With the N.B.A. season just approximately 70 days away, the Oklahoma City Thunder are gearing up for training camp, and we’re gearing up for the upcoming schedule. What are the big games? Well, we broke them down for you. From Russell Westbrook’s first game against Patrick Beverley to LeBron James returning to where he’s laid destruction down, we break them down for you.
#10 – December 29th, 2012, versus Rockets.
Russell Westbrook faces Patrick Beverley for the first time since the injury.
Beverley may not be the exact reason that Westbrook tore his meniscus. However, don’t tell Thunder fans that. They boo that man more than Metta World Peace. Beverley gave the Thunder fits on the defensive end, and pushed the Thunder to six games in the first round of last year’s playoffs.
Westbrook will have approximately 25-30 games underneath his belt when the Rockets return to town. I’ll be hard pressed to believe that Westbrook isn’t out to exact some kind of revenge on the Rockets. He very may well drop 30 points on the Rockets. H
ouston will bring a different line up into the Chesapeake Energy Arena though, on that December 29th. Dwight Howard will don the ugly red that signifies the Rockets. He’ll bring a paint presence that will force the Thunder to adjust, but with Westbrook back, that won’t be too big of a problem.
James Harden will return to the place that built him. Thunder fans are still pretty bitter about how things turned out, so any time they can revel in Harden failing, they will be all over the place with excitement. He’ll always be a fan favorite enemy from here on out.
The Rockets will be improved, and maybe a few of their question marks will be answered, but one thing will be for sure, the Thunder fans will be ready for this one.
