Last Time: Oklahoma City went into Denver and stole a 103-90 victory from the home team.
So, we’re finally here. The final game of the season. I don’t know about you, but I’m happy we are here. Oklahoma City is coming off a pretty good win over the Kings, where the second team led the fourth quarter come back. Oklahoma City survived 118-110.
Oklahoma City is locked into the number two spot in the West, so we could see a pretty similar thing that we saw in last year’s finale against Milwaukee. Where no starter played more than 24 minutes, and the reserves, led by Nate Robinson choked off a loss to the Bucks.
Look for James Harden to sit out this final game, a precautionary move that will allow him to rest up and be almost 100% going into the playoffs this weekend.
The Denver Nuggets are in the playoffs. However, where they will be seeded is yet to be determined. They’re currently in the sixth spot with two games remaining. So, there is a lot to play for with the Nuggets.
Denver won their last game 101-74 over the Dwight Howard-less Orlando Magic. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games, including four games over teams with winning records.
Keys to the game
Play Defense
Nuggets are the highest scoring team in the league. Oklahoma City did a really good job the last time these two played. Oklahoma City will have to do a good job if they want to do that again. Especially if the second team plays a lot of minutes again.
Rebound
The Nuggets can rebound, that’s a fact. Oklahoma City needs to limit the second chance opportunities and that starts on the offensive glass.
Westbrook
Westbrook is slumping, no beating around that bush. Westbrook needs to really use this last game to get his feet back underneath him. Westbrook is very key in the playoffs.
