The Thunder are 0-2 here in the Summer league, but it’s not all bad. Even though, PJ3 rolled his ankle in the third quarter yesterday. Lots of learning going on. Oklahoma City is learning to play as a team, and learning the offense, that’s part of what summer league is about. It’s not about winning the games always here.

Expect more Latavious Williams and hopefully a lot less Ryan Reid. Oklahoma City is really watching Reggie Jackson gain confidence and be awesome. Can’t say the same for Cole Aldrich. So, hopefully he can finally have at least a good game. We’ll see.

The Pistons on the other hand, are 2-0, and have won some really interesting ball games. Detroit is one of three undefeated teams. Andre Drummond has been just as advertised. They have a few players who played quiet a bit in Detroit last year, and this is just a continuation to gain some confidence. Kyle Singler has been a beast. PJ3 will have his hands full.

What to watch for

Cole Aldrich
I’m not saying Cole Aldrich isn’t playing well. The more personal fouls yesterday than points, and he had six points, shows that. The rust is still there, and it’s slowly knocking off. Offensively, a lot better yesterday. Defensively, yep, back to the drawing board. I don’t even want him to score 100 points. Just be efficient.

Perry Jones III’s Ankle
Curious to how it is. Looked like he just rolled it over. He said he was in a lot of pain, and understandably so. If he plays, that’s great. If he doesn’t, that’s great. First of all his health is more important. But if he can go, I’m interested to see how it effects him.

Scoring Droughts
Multiple times, in both games, the Thunder just couldn’t find a bucket. Couple of times against the Pacers, Oklahoma City didn’t even shoot the ball and had a 24-second violation. Gotta at least take the shots. That’s why Stephenson had 28 points yesterday, not afraid to shoot the ball. Reggie Jackson should be like that.

About The Author

I founded this site in May of 2011. It started out as a way to vent a lot of my thoughts on the Thunder in the 2011 Playoffs. However, people loved what I had to say and I watched my personal twitter grow from people wanting more Thunder knowledge. I was the Sports Editor at Eastern Oklahoma State College, also wrote for the OU Daily. I’ve had my work posted on USA today, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.com. I give a fan’s perspective while being knowledgeable, but I’m real. It’s not all candy and rainbows, I’ll call a player out if they’re not living up to the team’s expectations. So, bring your big boy pants and let’s Thunder Up!
