Basketball is finally here! We can say it! Yesssss!! Okay, now that I have that out of my system. I just would like to say, welcome to the 2012-2013 Oklahoma City Thunder season. It’s going to be full of many ups and a couple of downs. So sit back and enjoy the ride this season.

This is the first preseason game. If you’re going to watch to get your basketball fix, then you’re watching the right games. However, if you’re here to see mounds and mounds of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. You’re looking in the wrong place. This about seeing who’s right for the roster and working on a few things. Losses don’t mean too much here.

Look for Cole Aldrich to get a lot of minutes here and throughout the season. Same goes for Hasheem Thabeet and Reggie Jackson. Okay, it’ll almost be like watching summer league all over again. Except, these games actually count. Well, not really.

What we’re looking for (since it is just a preseason game)

Back up Center
Okay, who will it be? Nazr Mohammed isn’t back. Now is the time on whether or not Cole Aldrich is worth a damn at the number 12th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. Hasheem Thabeet has been a pretty big bust throughout his entire career. Let’s see what he can do behind the teachings of Scott Brooks and company.

PJ3
PJ3 is easily becoming one of my favorite acronyms for this team. Next to KD13 and DC43. I’m really excited to see what he brings to the court. They say his knees only have four years left in them. We’ll find out though.

Bench play
This is very intriguing to me. We’ll see the old few that we’ve grown accustomed to throughout their time here in Oklahoma City. We’ll welcome back a fan favorite in Eric Maynor. He’s in a contract year, same goes for James Harden. Reggie Jackson, Daequan Cook and Nick Collison will continue to give a lot of help from the pine as well. I’m looking for the growth of Reggie Jackson personally. He had a great summer. Let’s see it carry over to the season.

About The Author

I founded this site in May of 2011. It started out as a way to vent a lot of my thoughts on the Thunder in the 2011 Playoffs. However, people loved what I had to say and I watched my personal twitter grow from people wanting more Thunder knowledge. I was the Sports Editor at Eastern Oklahoma State College, also wrote for the OU Daily. I’ve had my work posted on USA today, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.com. I give a fan’s perspective while being knowledgeable, but I’m real. It’s not all candy and rainbows, I’ll call a player out if they’re not living up to the team’s expectations. So, bring your big boy pants and let’s Thunder Up!
