NBA Fine Randolph, not Perkins

Last Wednesday in Oklahoma City’s 107-97 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Zach Randolph and Kendrick Perkins were ejected late in the fourth quarter. An incident happened near the locker rooms which caused the NBA to investigate the issues. It was more or less about how they should take it outside of the arena. The two were separated, that was the end of it.

After five days of investigation by the NBA, Zach Randolph has been fined $25,000 for his part in the altercation.

Both players down played the incident. However, other people near the incident say otherwise.  Sources inside the arena, and near the locker rooms say that Perkins went to the locker room. Randolph started to, but then went running at Perkins. That’s where the two began shouting and had to be separated. If you’ve never been near the locker rooms, you have to go PAST the visitor’s locker room to get to the Thunder locker room. That’s probably where Randolph’s fine came from, most likely instigating the incident more.

About The Author

I founded this site in May of 2011. It started out as a way to vent a lot of my thoughts on the Thunder in the 2011 Playoffs. However, people loved what I had to say and I watched my personal twitter grow from people wanting more Thunder knowledge. I was the Sports Editor at Eastern Oklahoma State College, also wrote for the OU Daily. I’ve had my work posted on USA today, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.com. I give a fan’s perspective while being knowledgeable, but I’m real. It’s not all candy and rainbows, I’ll call a player out if they’re not living up to the team’s expectations. So, bring your big boy pants and let’s Thunder Up!
