The Oklahoma City Thunder are a hot ticket throughout the NBA. In Oklahoma City, there is over a 2,000 person waiting list for season tickets. That’s nothing that most didn’t already know. The Thunder have 37 games remaining on the season, 19 at home, 18 on the road.

When you compare the rest of the league to the Thunder ticket prices, Oklahoma City is a very hot ticket at home. The average ticket prices, according to TIQIQ.com, They’re the third-hottest home ticket in the league at $256.78 per ticket. Valentine Day’s game against the Miami Heat is going for an average price of $525.

That’s not even the most expensive ticket in the league. The New York Knicks own the two most expensive tickets. Knicks take on the Heat, that’s the most expensive ticket at $743. Before that, few games before, they host the Los Angeles Clippers, and that game is going for $739 PER TICKET. As you can guess, the Knicks own the highest home ticket price at $392. Also, the highest price overall $276.90.

Then in March, Oklahoma City is taking on the Boston Celtics. It’ll be Jeff Green’s first game in Oklahoma City since he’s been traded. That ticket is going for $401 a pop. The Lakers game before that, is for $331, currently.

So, we get it. The Thunder are hot at home. Oklahoma do not have a lot to do, and that really helps the ticket prices soar. Also, shout out to Chesapeake for their many of free tickets they give away that help raise the costs, due to the lack of available tickets too. That’s an entirely different subject all together.

On the road, the Thunder are also the third hottest ticket price. The Lakers and the Heat are the only teams that have higher prices. Not surprised though. Lakers, the largest fan base in the NBA, and the Heat, largest band wagon fan base, plus defending champion.

The Heat are the highest priced ticket at $280.10. The Lakers are dos at $243.95. Oklahoma City, while third, is averaging $230.69.

Honestly, for the most part, the Thunder away tickets are “pretty” cheap, comparable to their home tickets, because they’re slightly inflated. The Thunder plays at the Knicks on March 7th, and that ticket is going for $513. Then, on March 3rd, Oklahoma City travels to Los Angeles to play the clippers, that’s $321 per ticket. If you remove those two games, the Thunder are just averaging $135.86. The cheapest is at the Jazz, going for just $86, and as low as $7.

That’s all the Thunder information. Here is the breakdown of the rest of the league. (GR – Games Remaining)

About The Author

I founded this site in May of 2011. It started out as a way to vent a lot of my thoughts on the Thunder in the 2011 Playoffs. However, people loved what I had to say and I watched my personal twitter grow from people wanting more Thunder knowledge. I was the Sports Editor at Eastern Oklahoma State College, also wrote for the OU Daily. I’ve had my work posted on USA today, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.com. I give a fan’s perspective while being knowledgeable, but I’m real. It’s not all candy and rainbows, I’ll call a player out if they’re not living up to the team’s expectations. So, bring your big boy pants and let’s Thunder Up!
